Word Hunt Solver

Type the letters of your board, row by row. You get every word of three or more letters you can trace through squares that touch, with the longest words first.

How it works

  1. Pick the board size: 4 × 4 for Word Hunt, 5 × 5 for larger grid games.
  2. Type the letters left to right, top to bottom. You can also paste all of them into the single box.
  3. Results appear as soon as there are letters on the board, grouped by length.

A word counts when each letter touches the next one, up, down, sideways or diagonally, and no square is used twice in the same word. These are the standard rules of grid word games.

Scoring more in timed rounds

  • Long words first. In most grid games points grow quickly with length, so a single seven-letter word can beat a dozen short ones.
  • Add endings. Once you find a word, look for an S, ED, ER or ING next to its last letter.
  • Scan corners and edges. Letters there have fewer neighbors, so words through them are easy to miss.
  • Practice patterns. Run a few boards through the solver after a game to learn the combinations you missed.

Notes

Each square holds one letter. Some board games print QU on one die; type Q and U in two squares only if your board shows them that way. Words come from ENABLE, an open word list, so a few words may differ from your game's dictionary. See our word list.
