How to search
- Type each letter you know into its box. Leave unknown spots empty.
- Under Has these letters, add letters that are in the word but whose spot you don't know.
- Under Leave out letters, add letters you know are not in the word.
- Tap a word in the results to see its meaning and points.
For example, five-letter words with R second and E last and without S or T: our list has 66 of them, such as AREAE, ARGLE, ARGUE, BRACE.
When this helps
- Wordle. Green letters go in their boxes, yellow letters go under Has these letters, gray letters under Leave out. For yellow letters in a known wrong spot, the Wordle solver handles that rule for you.
- Crosswords. When some crossing letters are filled in, enter them in their boxes to see every five-letter word that fits.
- Word puzzles with a fixed length. Games that ask for a five-letter word from a set of letters work the same way.
