How to find your best play
- Type the letters on your rack, up to seven, plus ? for each blank.
- To play through tiles already on the board, enter them in the board box in order, with ? for each empty square. For example, ??E? finds four-letter words with E in third place.
- Results are sorted by Scrabble points. A word that uses all seven of your tiles is outlined in yellow: that is a bingo, worth 50 extra points.
- Tap a word to check its meaning before you play it.
How Scrabble points are counted here
The number next to each word is the sum of its tile values: 1 for common letters like E and S, up to 10 for Q and Z. Bonus squares are not included, because they depend on where you place the word. Look for a double or triple word square that a high-value letter can reach, and a modest word can outscore a long one.
Tips from the tile bag
- Learn the two-letter words. There are 98 in our list. They let you play alongside other words and score in two directions at once. See the full list of two-letter words.
- Keep a balanced rack. A good rack has two or three vowels. If you hold five vowels, play some away even for a small score.
- Save the S and the blank. Both turn a good word into a bingo or let you hook onto another word for extra points.
- Q without U. Words like QI, QAT, FAQIR, QAIDS, QANAT, QOPHS get rid of a Q when no U is around. See words with Q but no U.
About the dictionary
Official Scrabble tournaments use licensed word lists that we are not allowed to publish. We use ENABLE, an open list that overlaps with them for most everyday words. A few newer or rarer words may be missing, and a handful of words in our list may not be accepted in your game. If your game app rejects a word, check its own dictionary. Details: our word list.
