About TileFinch
TileFinch is a set of word tools for people who play word games: an unscrambler, a Wordle solver, an anagram solver, Scrabble and Words With Friends helpers, and word lists by length and letter. It is made by Zana, an independent developer.
Why it exists
Most word finders bury their results under ads, make you wait, or leave out what you need: points for your game, a definition to check a strange word, or a clear answer about which dictionary they use. TileFinch aims to give a complete answer on one page, quickly, with no pop-ups.
How it works
When you type letters, the search runs in your own browser against a copy of our word list, so results appear while you type and nothing you enter is sent to a server. Word-list pages are built ahead of time from the same list and the same search code, so a count on one page matches the count anywhere else on the site.
Our word list and definitions
Words come from ENABLE, a public-domain list, with a few documented additions and offensive words removed. Short meanings come from WordNet. Read the details on our word list and attributions.
Ads
The site may show ads in the future to pay for itself. If it does, ads will never sit between the letter box and your results, and there will be no video pop-ups or screens you must click through.
Not affiliated
TileFinch is independent. It is not connected with or endorsed by Hasbro, Mattel, Zynga, The New York Times or any other game maker. Game names are used only to say which game a tool helps with.
